“I think it would be kind of cool, to be able to have a secret identity like that,” Mary Jane flipped off the television coverage of Spider-man’s latest exploit and turned to her study partner, Peter Parker.

“How so?” He asked, feeling a bit of envy flare-up towards his alter ego.

“Well because you don’t have to worry about who you are in real life,” she elucidated, “I mean you can really be free of all your inhibitions because no one knows who you are.”

“Hm, if I were a superhero,” Peter began, voice all casual, “I wouldn’t hide behind a mask. I mean if I was so powerful, why would I need to wear a spandex outfit to hide myself?”

Mary-Jane hid the lower part of her face with an algebra textbook and stifled laughter, her eyes sparkling with mirth. “Peter, you would need a disguise just because no one would believe you were a superhero otherwise.”

“That’s fine with me,” he shrugged, maintaining his indifference towards the masked hero, then gesturing towards the arithmetic book Mary Jane held.

She jabbed him good-naturedly in the shoulder. “All right, all right. Let’s get back to studying.”
